More people on the trail here than total people i’ve seen on all previous trips combined. Like ants, small dots of people as far as you can see.
Happy that more people get to see it. Weirdly uncomfortable with the crowd and nature mashup. Something unnatural about it.

Two miles per hour is a valid estimate for any trail in Glacier. To do it entirely uphill is quite remarkable in your 60’s.
Even in cold weather, hiking up can soak your clothing.
The only treated, drinkable water is 400 meters from the Chalet. The level of gratitude for water is palpable.
Freeze dried meals only require boiling water, a good stir, and a short wait. Eat them right out of the bag. Prep and clean up couldn’t be easier.
At 6,600′, Granite Park Chalet will get 2-7 inches of snow starting tomorrow morning.
i have never known anyone who runs their life like a successful, growing business. The notion intrigued me to try it and changing my focus in 1999 has enhanced every aspect of daily living.
