Bring the good time with you

As we concluded the Reynolds saddle portion of the hike.

Reynolds Mountain moments after reaching Hidden Lake Trail.

Not a perfect Mickey, yet identifiable with great examination.

In the previous photo, this hidden Mickey is in the lower right.

The hike included a precarious drop off for the 200 meters at the top.

One bad move and you can die.

We are not thrilled seekers, nor are we foolish.

One drunken miscalculation and a one-night stand can have a similar affect.

Son, always bring the good time with you and always, repeat always, remains aware of your surroundings.

Yee-haw

Jesse from Toy Story. She summited Oberlin too.

Yee-haw.

Son, have some go-to, automatic, anchor, celebratory sayings.

Why?

Over-focus on anchoring your progressive journey and string of continuous successes.

Son, after today’s Oberlin summit, you’ll anchor your achievement with some personal habit or ritual saying.

Keep moving forward

Walking quickly to compensate for the stationary time with the goats, almost sped past here, but didn’t. Do you see the hidden Mickey (from yesterday)?

Amazing (to me) that the flowers have turned to face the sunrise. Last night they faced the sunset. Remarkable.

The back-to-back sunrise summits and descents are designed to familiarize the hike leader with a trail that is not obvious.

The descent took and hour, counting stops.

Stopped by Cabin 20 to drop off a small backpack.

The other half of my luggage (left) and trash/recyclables from a three-week rental.

The building’s rear. Yesterday.

The build’s front.

Inside, from my chair.

Team photo last night, 9:00PM.

Back deck photo, 9:30 PM.

Back deck photo from 6:00 AM this morning.

Son, life as a small business owner with a global reach is challenging when internet access is virtually non-existent.

Used the public library for three hours until they closed at 4:00 PM.

Then sat in the rental car in the grocery store parking lot for 2.5 more hours because the Verizon signal was strong there.

The ATT signal was 2 bars and Verizon was 4.

Having two phones and two carriers is one of “a million” ways i over-focus.

Son, embrace over-focusing and create your own unique structure and processes to get and stay decently organized.

The road to excellence has no finish line.

Called it off

Instead of another hike i stopped at almost every pullover, something i rarely do.
The road is virtually deserted after 7:30 PM.
St . Mary Lake looking East and the West end of the Great Plains.
Good night (again) Wild Goose Island.

Called it off last night for the same reasons as the night before.

Thought a 90-minute earlier start would solve for my anxieties.

Half-a-mile in i knew it was too risky to do solo.

Mt. Oberlin is an obscure hike because there’s no sign and you must step over the “keep off” chain.

On yesterday’s solo Oberlin summit and back, i saw four people.

It’s a dangerous hike for tourists.

It’s an even worse place to fall because there’s no foot traffic to notice.

After being the first one up yesterday morning, i had the notion to do it for sunset.

After deciding no, i drove down and went to bed early.

It was tempting to do Hidden Lake again, especially after that Magical evening.

Heading out the door at 5:45 AM to do it again before exchanging rental cars at the airport.

Celebrate your organization

Just as it was time to return to Logan Pass, these Mountains Goats and i met.
Solitude offered this incredibly personal experience.
Good night Wild Goose Island.

Celebrate your organization?

Sure.

Celebrate your work place?

Sure.

Yes, and.

Son, celebrate your personal organization. Enjoy all your efforts to be decently organized with the paperwork of life.
