What are you convinced is worth defending?

Being decently organized?

How organized is enough?

Enough to survive day to day?

Enough to be able to thrive daily?

For 60 consecutive days i’ve taken on a new challenge of not having any emails in the inbox, sent, and trash folders when i go to bed.

Zero.

To start the day with a clean slate would feel like __________ to you?

Everything is easy

The right business model can accommodate a pocket sized business model.

Everything is easy when you know how to do it.

Do you find being organized difficult?

Here’s what i’ve come to accept about my organizational shortcomings:

  • Nothing will change if i don’t want the change bad enough
  • Failure used to stop me from continuing the journey
  • Continuing the journey (trying again and again) leads to breakthroughs
  • It’s easy to make excuses
  • It’s even easier to get used to being disorganized

i accept the truth that our degree of personal organization is the degree to which all other things in our life prosper or flounder.

Going digital, also known as going paperless, is a huge adjustment for paper dependent people.

Who would you rather believe?

Blog comment

Who would you rather believe?:

  1. Someone validating your (and society’s) deeply-held belief that balance is a myth?
  2. Someone contradicting your (and society’s) deeply held belief that balance is a myth?

Seems like a stupid question until you consider who’s asking it…me.

Stuck, then suddenly not

Relaxing on a pool raft
Love being able to do this on weekdays, while most others are racing to work.

Making progress is probably the most motivating thing there is, especially when you’ve been stuck for longer than you thought was reasonable.

While working on a Saturday afternoon (yesterday) and into the night shouldn’t happen, i’m grateful that when inspiration struck, i was organized enough to go with it.

It was weird to share this word with the CPA

Golds Gym sign
It’s simple, put stuff back where you found it. yet some don’t or can’t. Why?

One of the reasons the CPA and i spoke for two hours is because i’m a relationship person. Nothing is more important than trust.

Our conversation began with me asking him to tell me how he got into the business.

Later, i shared that my “word for 2015” is lean.

Simple, direct, light.

Portable, flexible.

Nimble.

Powerful.

Being decently organized helps this vision.

Being unorganized does not.

Yet we’re too busy to change.
