The gift of freedom to learn your own home lessons.

It took until age 56 to learn how to go to bed each night with the three main email folders empty. Nothing in the inbox, sent, or trash folders.

Everyday for the past 90 days. The goal is to make this a lifetime habit.

The freedom to begin each morning with a clean slate is remarkable.

i did’t know how incredible it is until i did it.

PS. i wrote this post 100 days ago, so the real “streak” is 190 days. Impossible is nothing.

Just talk. To real people.

Dear Son, last week you did two things differently in first period. You stopped listening to music and stopped reading.

Why?

A simple goal.

Just listen.

Listen to what others are talking about and listen for common ground.

Tomorrow, step two, talk.

Thank you Walt Disney for teaching me this

Winderemere Preparatory School
Yesterday, stormy weather in the distance.

In a brutally busy and distracting world, we either succumb to or triumph over our situation.

Disney has taught me to habitually over manage things that others either under manage or ignore.

Intentionally arriving early to pick up our son from High School affords the daily opportunity to observe and to be seen – the invisible keys to building trust.

Note: Being early means something else has to give. This is why most can’t develop the active and visible habit – they’re too busy.
