Wasn’t organized enough to enjoy my 54th birthday

Evil Professor Duffenschmirtz
Curse you Perry the Platypus, it was supposed to be the best day ever.

Wasn’t organized enough to enjoy my 54th birthday yesterday. Not in traditional style anyway. Funny though, it was thoroughly enjoyable.

The Doctor’s visit could have been a real downer (and the temptation was huge). So grateful to have a reputable healthcare facility close by and open on the weekend.

And helping Cheryl prepare for the new floor installation in two days was a milestone experience. Goodbye to our 27-year old waterbed and 21-year old carpets.

Insight: Celebrate our birthday every single day. The most unusual and sometimes even the drudgery of day-to-day are the greatest birthday gifts ever.

Our pleasure is lost because we fail to stop being ambitious

Cheryl’s 2nd cousin, 17, heading off to college (remember when it was us?)

The pleasure of what we enjoy is mostly lost by wanting more.

Desiring more is normal.

Letting our desire ruin our present moment causes discord. We have all we need, yet desire even more.

Boomers, we must find a way to slow down while at the same time hurry up – because our clock is ticking.

It’s a good frightened

Give a woman a fish or teach her to fish – joy either way

What is a good frightened? Some people are so self-aware that it is frightening, because it actually scares others unintentionally. Not many of us would admit that an authentically self-aware person intimidates us.

If you carry uncommon self-awareness with you, walk softly.

And smile.

Always smiling.

Enjoy your blessings today. All day.
