A rare moment of sunshine.

Logan Pass
Have never witnessed smoke at Logan Pass. Going to the Sun Mountain is almost invisible.

Hidden Lake Trail overlook. Try to visit without taking some photos. Dare ya.

Logan Pass
By 8:00 AM in the Summer, it’s full.

After dinner, we drove 20 minutes back up to Logan Pass for a three-mile (500′ elevation gain) warm-up hike.

The stunning views were nowhere to be found. i didn’t belabor it. Howard understood and i was grateful for that.

Being the only humans at the overlook, it was remarkably creepy.

Quiet, wild, and potentially vulnerable are understatements.

Driving the speed limit may save your life

Traffic accident
Ride my bike past here three times every week.

No telling what time this happened. Praying no one was hurt.

Reminded by this morning’s near miss on the drive to the airport how things can change in an instant.

Driving the speed limit may save your life.

Some thought i was “only” a facilitator

Disney Speaker jeff noel
University of Iowa Health Care. One of my favorites. Made an intentional choice to stay in the facilitator role. The increased pay and increased responsibility minus the diminished joy due to teaching less wasn’t worth it.

People still think of me as a cartoonist, but the only thing I lift a pen or pencil for these days is to sign a contract, a check, or an autograph.  – Walt Disney

i’ve seen many people, almost predictably, climb the ladder and the higher they climbed, the further they got from what they loved to do. Be aware of this phenomenon and be careful.

I’ve been up against tough competition all my life. I wouldn’t know how to get along without it.  – Walt Disney

Hey, remember that some of the toughest competition you’ll face is the lifelong accumulation of stuff. You lose if you can’t learn to reduce, reuse, recycle, or trash. Life literally buries some people.
