Envisioning gratitude

Steve and Stacy opened my world to summiting 9,000′ peaks. Oberlin (8,200′) was my previous skill level. Two 9,200′ solo summits this year. Next year, 10,000’+. Right?
  • Steve and Stacy extended an early season invite to enjoy campfire burgers.
  • September 28 is end of season…better late than….never.
  • Quite the fire-pit Steve engineered.
  • Stacy and Steve also engineered an incredibly beautiful and tranquil shangri-la near Glacier National Park
  • First time playing bocce ball. Loved it.
  • One of the first major icons as you travel West of the Pass. After summiting Piegan Mountain, this is the drive to campfire burgers dinner.
  • First class smores in progress.
  • Relaxing and peaceful end of an incredibly active day.
  • Wait, there’s more. Brand new hot tub. Three days old.
  • Time stamp 11:15PM…checking in on work.

Hated to say no

Heaven’s Peak, uniquely highlighted by snow.
  • Haystack’s beautiful and simple profile.
  • At 7,500′ Haystack is not a hill.
  • Flowers turning to seed is nature’s calendar.
  • Fair amount of snow melted while i enjoyed Haystack Butte.

  • Still focused on shadows, even back at Motel.

Maybe two weeks ago, when Djuan committed to Glacier, his agenda included a boating opportunity today. Then, as i explained last night (again), for me it would depend entirely on the weather. Great weather and i’m staying in Glacier. No brainer. Summiting Haystack was weather’s gift to me.

Paperwork of life

Djuan, Kim and i opened Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts in 1990. Kim recently moved to Whitefish. Whitefish is a ski resort town 40 minutes from Glacier. Kim’s daughter joined us.
  • Told Djuan and his friend Ahkil that i may walk into the restaurant and walk right back out.
  • Djuan and Kim got the back corner booth away from everyone. It was acceptable.
  • Three amigos for the next few days.
  • The blurry photos are my favorites.
