Stay focused in 2018

Highline Trail
Summer 2016, hiking Glacier National Park’s Highline Trail. Looking forward to hiking it again in 2018.

Stay focused in 2018.

Tons of distractions.

At the top of the list:

Fear, doubt, competing priorities.

Stay focused.

Your clock is ticking.

Live like you mean it.

Go.

Going the extra mile is a flawed proposition

Lake McDonald
Extra-inch pin at Glacier National Park’s Lake McDonald. Sprauge fire smoke in the background.

Going the extra mile is a flawed proposition.

Sure, it’s an audacious statement.

Which is perfect, by the way.

Is the Internet giving you oxygen or suffocating you?

So i ask myself (literally daily)…

If i were accused of being convinced about how i should live my life, would there be enough evidence to convict me?

i may be wrong, but i am convinced. You may be right but you are not convinced.

A lovely last evening at the Lake McDonald Boat House

Glacier National Park in September
Had to. One last set of Disney Character photos before leaving tomorrow.

Glacier National Park in September
Farewell, from all of us.

Glacier National Park in September
C-ya real soon…if the Universe is aligned.

Glacier National Park in September
Goodbye my friends.

Glacier National Park in September
Walked up the shore for the first time.

Glacier National Park in September
Beautiful home on an exquisite location. View unblocked (and unmatched).

Glacier National Park in September
Closer inspection reveals the truth. A sad state of disrepair – rotting wood.

Glacier National Park in September
While i spent a great deal of time looking up, there were also moments looking down at the rocky shore. Hundreds of thousands of stones and i spot this one.

Glacier National Park in September
Final picture yesterday.

Made tough decisions as i returned to the cable-less wall for the last time (ever?).

Sure, another Hidden Lake Trail hike would have been amazing.

It would have provided more time to ponder life and how to continue putting a dent in our Universe.

However.

A second Hidden Lake Trail hike would have been a greedy exercise.

Time.

Time at the Boat House.

The Lake McDonald shore.

The view.

The unhurried time to think.

Ok, deep breath…go straight to the rental car, stow backpack in trunk, snap a few parting photos, and then haul it (drive) back to Apgar.

At 2:33pm, the goal was to be “home” at 5pm.

Made it with minutes to spare.

What a lovely last evening at the Boat House.
