Note, this is a screenshot, not a video. What an unexpected ‘fire-drill’ for all the organizations and their customers.
short email to hospitality company
Booked this res 11 months ago. Literally pleading with a trusted employee to trust me that i will get there.
short email to hospitality company
My trusted employee contact is out-of-the-office. Immediately forwarded the original request along with a brief contextual note.

Alamo increased the 4-week price 120% to modify the rental car pickup date two days later. So i’m literally pleading (a 2nd time this morning) to my trusted Alamo employee to creatively solve my CloudStrike travel challenge.
handwritten post it note
While i always plan for the worst and hope for the best, right now i can only plan for things to work out seamlessly. Leaning on a global disaster to favor my position.

Hoping for the best.

What else can i do?

The good news?

Planning for the best is a habit.

July 19 Countdown to Glacier, home

Grateful Dead album cover
Easy Wind played while walking six miles yesterday. The Grateful Dead is growing on me.

The Angel’s Share.

Sounds like a thin-place concept.

Praying for an angel’s share of goodness on tomorrow’s trip West.

Also, and equally, praying for an angel’s share of goodness for my Family at home.

Will see them both in due time.

Note: And as always, praying everyone everywhere gets an angel’s share.

Two days until Glacier, home

Wall size sign saying “are you ready”
Heck yeah. Photo: Deloitte University in Texas.

My priorities this week leading up to Glacier are simple. Obvious, even.

Count my infinite blessings.

Savor the preparation.

Do the highest value activities in the yard.

Enjoy the heat and humidity.

Three days until Glacier, home

How do we benefit from HQ consistency?

How important is the consistency of our prioritized priorities?

Conversely, what’s at risk if we aren’t consistent?

Four days until Glacier, home

Rainbow
Last night after dinner. Never gets old.
Rainbow
Late start to Summer thunderstorms. Better late than never. Pond and lake levels are rising closer to normal.
Garmin Inreach Mini 2 set up screen
Best device for hiking backcountry and its technology gives me peace of mind when i’m in the wild. Been using a Garmin inReach MINi since 2019. Upgraded this year to a MINI 2. Activated it yesterday.

This will be our first summer in Glacier with a rented storage space.

We are organized to have everything we need waiting on us.

It’s a new structure and process after all these years.

Brainstorming improvements and implementing one of the ideas is fun.

And just like in our Disney careers, once an idea is implemented you immediately and instinctively begin improving the improvement.

Wheels up in four days.
