Day 4 East Glacier, home

National Park Lodge lobby
This morning, 520am. From just outside my hotel room door.

On my way outside to the rental car, 5:22am.
Vase of daisies
Didn’t notice this last night when i arrived and checked in, but noticed it this morning on my way to the car. Texted it to Cheryl.

In the van, ready to go…5:29am.
Person at trailhead sign
Taking these selfies at trailhead signs helps me remember what happened and when.
Hiking trail
First one up here.

Documenting the one-way mileage, and the new 2024 hiking sneaker.

i take photos like this to remind me the elevation of the places i visit.

Let’s round it to 7.5 miles depending on which device you go with. Respectable considering i’ve only been here 14 hours.
Christmas present
This is the lead-in photo for tomorrow’s posts.

Living and breathing Disney creativity for a lifetime makes the process i used last night no more difficult than breathing the air i need to breathe with every breath.

It was a no brainer.

Scenic Point hike.

Capturing for posterity: About 2pm yesterday bumped into Keegan, the Lodge GM, in the lobby and have been reflecting on our conversation. This leads me to say this, my life is my message.

Airline update
So far so good.
Airline update
Arrived at airport at 7:00am. Gate at 7:30am. Flight at 10:00am.
Airplane aisle seat view
Exit row. Aisle. Connected to wifi at 34k’. Next stop, Denver.

Experiencing a paradox right now, an hour into the first fight.

Thought this day would never come.

Can’t believe it’s here already.

Signing off for the day.

Looking forward to sleeping in Glacier Park Lodge tonight. And, waking up in GPL tomorrow.

Day 2 East Glacier, home

4-second video: This type of video requires a ‘Disney Speaker’ to be at a Disney Theme Park and reply to someone in real time. At will. Only a handful of professional speakers in the world can do a video, at will, like this. Truth be told, i know of no other Disney Customer Service Speaker who can/does.
email screen shot
He replied that he did receive it. Weird that i can’t find a copy. But grateful to know the timely GUSH opportunity wasn’t missed.

Maybe the two day departure/arrival delay is the Universe’s way of gifting me with an even greater appreciation for what is about to happen.

Been waiting on yesterday’s departure for nearly a year.

And to return to Glacier with both eyes still functioning is literally a miracle.

Maybe the Universe thought i needed to recenter my “miracle-conscience appreciation”.

Dear Universe, i trust your judgement. Thank you.

July 20 Wheels up to Glacier Day 1, home

Note, this is a screenshot, not a video. What an unexpected ‘fire-drill’ for all the organizations and their customers.
short email to hospitality company
Booked this res 11 months ago. Literally pleading with a trusted employee to trust me that i will get there.
short email to hospitality company
My trusted employee contact is out-of-the-office. Immediately forwarded the original request along with a brief contextual note.

Alamo increased the 4-week price 120% to modify the rental car pickup date two days later. So i’m literally pleading (a 2nd time this morning) to my trusted Alamo employee to creatively solve my CloudStrike travel challenge.
handwritten post it note
While i always plan for the worst and hope for the best, right now i can only plan for things to work out seamlessly. Leaning on a global disaster to favor my position.

Hoping for the best.

What else can i do?

The good news?

Planning for the best is a habit.

July 19 Countdown to Glacier, home

Grateful Dead album cover
Easy Wind played while walking six miles yesterday. The Grateful Dead is growing on me.

The Angel’s Share.

Sounds like a thin-place concept.

Praying for an angel’s share of goodness on tomorrow’s trip West.

Also, and equally, praying for an angel’s share of goodness for my Family at home.

Will see them both in due time.

Note: And as always, praying everyone everywhere gets an angel’s share.
