We survived Milton, home

23-second video: 2:30 PM local update. The next few day’s weather will be conducive to cleanup.

Today is a mental and physical rest day.

Prioritizing this rest day over starting the cleanup today.

This rest day also facilitates waiting for water to lower. A win-win.

i want to close today’s posts with this:

We have not yet seen the impending, televised, devastating impact at Milton’s landfall region.

i am apprehensive to view the upcoming updates.

Why?

Because in the last 24 hours Milton drifted slightly to the south, we (Orlando) were spared a direct hit. And not only that, we wound up on the weakest wind-strength side.

Orlando’s gain is another’s nightmare.

Being on a hurricane’s weak side is the Universe randomly extending us amazing Grace.

That said, the Universe didn’t punish anyone, but those in the direct path could feel that way.

Finally, Cheryl and i have had ‘the peddle to the metal’ since 4:00 AM Sunday. That’s 100 hours of intense emotional and physical investment to weather this unprecedented storm.
