Open day for weather: We always plan on a midweek day to be a rest/weather day. Rain and wind can make hiking unsafe. If this happens, we’ll be chilling to a Plan B—which could mean stay in cabin, or drive somewhere, enjoying scenery from the vehicle.
Departure day: Flights to Orlando leave by 6:00 AM, or early afternoon. West Glacier is 45 minutes from airport. St Mary is 2.5 hours. Many Glacier is three hours. Arrive airport minimum two hours before departure. Allow ample time to return rental car, check luggage, and get through security.
