The only treated, drinkable water is 400 meters from the Chalet. The level of gratitude for water is palpable.
Freeze dried meals only require boiling water, a good stir, and a short wait. Eat them right out of the bag. Prep and clean up couldn’t be easier.
At 6,600′, Granite Park Chalet will get 2-7 inches of snow starting tomorrow morning.

Sitting outside West Glacier Motel room. Watching the sun set on the top of the mountain. Seconds after the photo, the sun light disappeared from the top.
Weird timing on the social media post. The Motel room doesn’t have a closet, no dresser, no TV, nothing that speaks to material storage nor indulgence.
Be the most organized person you know. It becomes easier to achieve as you continuously shed what doesn’t matter.

By far the best safety-thing to have deep in the wild. PS. It was exactly a 10-mile hiking day.
Mountain Ash (with red berries) has another month before turning deep red.
Do the right things right. The herd is good at doing the wrong things right. Pursuing, maintaining, and improving your mental, physical, spiritual, career, and home-life vibrancy is a lonely path. Take the lonely path anyway. It’s the right thing to do.
