An iconic Main Street Kalispell, Montana feature. We always check to see if it’s still there.
Been reading the daily digital editions for years. In 2024, they abandoned print delivery. It was fun to actually see where their physical office is. It’s not far from the repelling ‘mountaineer ‘ on the brick Main Street building.
Could have easily missed this decal in the Grocery Store parking lot.
So much normalcy has been (appropriately) revealed as we spend much more time ‘in town’, far away from Glacier’s Lodges and trails.
There is nothing special, to me, about this region if you are landlocked to your street, your grocery store, and your daily routine.
People fly from all over the world to visit. Which is pretty flattering to locals. The tourists leave soon thereafter.
But if you aren’t on vacation, you likely will avoid the crowds (and drive). This then becomes a habit and a ritual.

This place is also the name of a favorite GNP restaurant at Rising Sun Motor Inn and Cabins, just a few miles west.
