It's Starting To Add Up

It's Starting To Add Up

June was flat. Sounds like High School, but I’m not talking about how a sweater fits.

However, I am talking about size.

June was flat. It wasn’t better than May, but it was as good as May.

And remember how good May was?

Many people stop blogging because traffic either never catches on or it fades away.

If I were to conservatively estimate, based on historical data, these numbers will at least double by year’s end.

Are You Getting This?

The Difference?

The Difference?

Many great thinkers, game changers some call them, have had to deal with ridicule and doubt most of their lives.

There comes a point, however, when something clicks, something comes together and others finally embrace their crazy notions:

There is one significant difference between the people who make the list and those that don’t.

Five A Day – Part Three

Monday, December 14th, 2009

“Why did you create five blogs in the first place, knowing that you’d never be writing in all five everyday anyway?”

Two logical reasons:

  1. My model for balance had four parts, not two
  2. I’d link each of them to all the others, for SEO

Mid Life Celebration is about balancing life’s big choices, and there are four:

  1. Mind
  2. Body
  3. Spirit
  4. Money

This fifth blog, jeffnoel.com, was created because I thought there should be an “office” or “headquarters”, so to speak – one that didn’t have a theme and wasn’t part of the model.

And when the previous jeffnoel.com didn’t renew after having that domain, www.jeffnoel.com for seven years, it was a natural choice to pick my given name as a dot com.

That’s it.  That’s how it happened.  And now, I can’t stop myself.

In a sea of blogs that drone on about whatever, I’m carving out a space among the few who have five-a-day, droning on about whatever.

Got Book?

“Don’t die with a book still in you.” jeff noel

“Outside a dog, a book is man’s best friend.  Inside a dog, it’s too dark to read.”Groucho Marx

How many people want to write a book?

How many believe they can write a book?

How many actually do?

Two days ago, I said to my wife, “You know, depending on your definition of a book, I’ve already written five.”

And you know what Cheryl said?  And by the way, this is one of the million things that I love about Cheryl, because she’s so smart, she said, “I know.”

Tomorrow, I’ll share a free link to Roger Parker’s checklist for getting a book published.  That is, unless you have no story to tell. But I sincerely doubt that.

Everyone has a story to tell.

Don’t die with a book in you.

Cool App

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

Recently discovered how to easily schedule blog posts for future dates.

This week has been dedicated to experimenting with the newly found app.  It’s embarrassingly easy.  Should have figured this out long ago, but instead, only this past weekend.

On one blog, I’ve scheduled the next ten daily blog posts.  Others (5 total) a few days ahead, and a couple just a day in advance.

I still write five every morning; however, I’m writing a few “buffer blog posts”, for those days and weeks when the unexpected happens.

Dream big and do something great.  Even if it’s a “small” great, like making a sad or lonely person smile.

Everything Is Important

Friday, November 13th, 2009

Seems like it.  Doesn’t it?

Was recently viewing a live streaming feed on WordPress.  WordPress hosts WordCamp

Was reminded that social media, and blogging in particular, is a phenomenon.

Being 50 and embracing blogging and social media, while raising a son (9), is an interesting place to be in cyberspace, in a rapidly changing web 2.0 world.

While still trying to figure it out, everything points to communicating with others, and offering something that others want.

What do people want?  Not sure exactly.  Meanwhile though, I’ll continue to be guided by a heart-felt desire to make a difference in our world.

PS.  I realize my path, style, whatever you want to call it, may be good and it may also not be good.  Rather try and fail than not try. Ya with me?

jeff noel and WordPress.

A dynamic duo?

We’ll see very soon.

Spent most of yesterday discovering, dreaming and then actually doing a ton of work on a revelation I had.

I’ll be announcing it, or maybe simply just doing it unannounced, soon.
