Yeah, Go Daddy!
To all the people that are finally starting to chatter about social media in the workplace, I’m sorry for being so far ahead of you.
And then there are the ones who make me look like an amateur. I tip my hat to you.
Either way, there’s always a group that wins and a group that looses, and of course a group that’s clueless there was a competition.

Reinvent The Gate
“Reward excellent failures. Punish mediocre success.” — Phil Daniels, Sydney Executive
This quote inspires the heck out of me. Seriously.
If ever there was a pervasive vision for risk-taking, this would be the battle cry.

What?
Life. We love being alive.
We dread dying.
In between, we have to carve out our life. A life that hopefully allows us to not only survive, but also to thrive somewhat.
To have mostly good days, a fair number of “bad” days, and occasionally a few great days.
Bad, good, great. We will each define these differently, no doubt. That’s okay. It’s all relative anyway.
So what’s the point?
The point is, what will today be?

Are We Trained For Them?
We all have addictions.
“No we don’t”, is the echo we can hear from some of you.
“Yes we do”, is the echo we can hear from some others, including myself.
Is it hereditary? Click here to read this article that suggests it is.

Stop Being So Measured
What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?
We’ve all heard this question posed to us in our lifetimes.
Some of us have heard it so many times, we no longer hear it, no longer even consider it a valid question.
You now why?
Because nothing in life is guaranteed, except that we will die and taxes will increase.
Giving in, and quitting are so common place. Or, people won’t even start in the first place.
Why?
Because we can fail at everything.
But what if we didn’t fail?
How would our lives be transformed? And more importantly, how would the lives of others be transformed?

“In soloing – as in other activities – it is far easier to start something than it is to finish it.” — Amelia Earhart

“I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 28 occasions, I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot, and missed. I have failed over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed”. — Michael Jordan
Boy this sure sounds familiar….

The three things I did Thursday that scared me:
- Asked someone to help me write my first book
- Made a business proposal to an unlikely candidate
- Made a second business proposal to a likely candidate
Guess what? It feels great!
Even if I fail, I succeed.
If you don’t understand this concept, you may want to invest in figuring it out.
It’s one of the most powerful and liberating truths life has to offer you.
Simply put:
“Nothing ventured. Nothing gained”.
If not today, when? Carpe diem, jeff noel :)
